Branding:

All work starts with inspiration, and for this project, I dove into Japanese elements on Pinterest and other oodboard-style sites to expand my idea and find style. Looking through street signs, old posters, and Japanese-inspired illustrations led me to a unique concept focused on dots and dashes

When designing the marks, I took my inspiration moodboard and identified some main components I wanted to incorporate into my type. I ended up experimenting with a lot of abstract marks and eventually landed on creating my type from a thick stroke and complimenting circle.

When designing branding, I first put myself in the client's mind. Where this will be shown, how it should work with the space it's in, and how to incorporate design that complements the typography were all on my mind when creating this branding identity. As this is a mock personal brand, I decided to focus on designing for events, such as posters and business cards, while also providing multiple iterations of color and content for everything.
